I work as an account executive for FC Cincinnati. I decided my senior year of high school that I wanted to work in sports, initially in marketing. To get ahead in sports, it’s very much about who you know. I started out working seasonally for the Reds for 2 years & then did 2 more seasonal internships with them (in Promotional Events & Ticketing). After graduating from NKU in 2019 with a degree in sports business & event management, I was rejected from about a dozen sports related jobs, half of which were with the Reds. Graduating right before a pandemic didn’t help much, but after a part time sports related job with a non-profit & a side track role with Girl Scouts, I was finally able to break through in sports full time. I definitely lost some of the dozen sports jobs to men. But I’m 1 of 3 women in the ticketing department at FC & I couldn’t be happier.
